Momma Drama

Happy belated...

...birthday to Amy and anniversary to Paula.

Thursday, January 27, 2005 @ 6:33 PM

Ugh...

....I'm living in migraine alley this month I guess. Hopefully tomorrow, or even tonight will be better.
And welcome back, my little Unkymood....

Tuesday, January 25, 2005 @ 8:40 PM

It's alive....

...at least I think I am. Which is a real switch from last week. I've never felt so sick, for not really feeling bad. I know that sounds like it doesn't make sense, but I can explain. Tomorrow.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch.......my birthday made me feel so special. I got calls, gifts, and on-line birthday greetings and cards from all over. :) Down state, Maryland, Alaska, England, and Nevada to name a few. I am really blessed, you all rock! Thank you so much my friends and family.

I'm afraid I once again took myself out of the running for 'mother of the year' last week though. :( Devin will support that sentiment. More on that tomorrow.

I'm feeling the job stress again lately, I need to really find my mo-jo tomorrow.

I bought these boots yesterday. I love the damn things. And I paid less than that for them. Bonus.

More to blog tomorrow, have a happy hump day all!

Tuesday, January 18, 2005 @ 8:23 PM

Am I still alive?

Today's migraine tried to kill me. Kill me I say. Thankfully it is gone now, a mere 13 hours after it started. Now I'm left with migraine/Imitrex hangover.
Oh yeah, and Dave's cold he so kindly shared.
Tomorrow is another day, heaven knows today was a wash-out.

First of all...

....you were all supposed to help me stop myself from eating the cake. Not smack your collective lips and say "Yum"....... The cake is still safe, I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich instead. Much better huh? Not so much. The cake will have to get down to the neighbors tomorrow, I'm feeling sluggish now.

The Village train has been motoring this afternoon, which is a very good thing. The meeting is Monday. The W-2's are due by the 31st. The 941 is due by the 31st. The Wage and Detail report is due by the 25th. I need to secure an auditor. Soon. I need to close out the books on last year. Oy vey....thank gawd for the raise.

I am so happy today. It is sunny. And I have sunglasses to wear. Because I have contacts again! Yay me! I really haven't worn them in years, they would "sit" in my eyes, I could feel them all the time. Nasty feeling. Now that my pregnancy days, (I'll leave those to someone else...you know who you are. ;) and my breast feeding days are over, my hormones are back in whack. It seems that for me, wacky hormones also affected my eye shape, and my contacts never did feel right through three pregnancies.

Weekend plans include:
Going through the Christmas stuff in the attic, pulling some for the garage sale and packing the rest away in the new red and green totes.
Pulling the Valentines decorations out and getting those up.
A stop to K-Mart to return a ceiling fan. Hard to put one of those up when you pull the ceiling down...
Lots of scrapping.
Not a lot of cooking. Leftovers should be plentiful this weekend.
Lots of quality family time. Dave and all the kidlets have a three day weekend.
Painting the laundry room.
Staining the shelving/coat hanging unit. The handy dandy neighbor made a 7.5' tall, 8' long unit for storage/coats/boots/etc. by request. After we are done with those two things, I'll get new carpet, and we will blow insulation into the two outside walls.

And may I just add that it is 5:30 pm, and NOT pitch dark....? Whoo hoo!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Oh. My. Head....

Two Imitrex nasal sprays later....and my eyeballs are hurting. Probably all due to the fact that it was 50 some degrees last night and raining like a big dog. Maybe I need to move to the desert. Tried to do what I could Village wise. I'll be hitting it hard tomorrow morning , before the kids get up.

I have an eye Dr. appointment tomorrow, for contacts...yay! I am so overdue for new ones. I miss my sunglasses!

Today was a half day of school for Trent, thank goodness it wasn't cancelled. I don't think I'd have made it through the day...

The kids and I will be doing a "New neighbor meet and greet" tomorrow. If I don't eat the whole cake I baked today for the occasion.............wish me luck. ;)

Randomness, Part 2....

Devin thinks people have two laps. Two legs/thighs=two laps. Go figure.....

Being frugal is hard work, and pretty much a pain in the ass. I guess it has a time and a place, but just not here and now.

Is it wrong to serve up meals in paper trays with patty paper? No? I didn't think so either.....one must have a break from the constant loading and unloading of the dishwasher right? Between those and the amount of Gordon's meals we bought the other day, I should have a damn thing to complain about for a while. I'm pleased with the Gordon's groceries.....we were able to buy low fat, convenient foods.

Monday was a snow day, today was an ice day. Tomorrow and Friday are supposed to be half days. It's looking like they won't have school tomorrow though....give me strength. Today was going to be my big Village day, with both kids gone at naptime. No such luck. I'll need to buckle down tomorrow morning before Dave leaves for work.

Yesterday was "mammogram day", what a pain in the ass boobage that is! Yesterday was also "stop and pick up prescriptions at the low, low cost of $60 day". (Imitrex for me, fluoride for Maiya and antibiotic for Trent, who has another sinus infection.) Also, "take back a platter wall hanger and exchange it for a Yankee candle" day. Also, "go to the tanner and start using up the 10 paid for sessions you thought you had" day.....except I have 20 paid for sessions. Yay!

As soon as the weather starts to break a little, March/April-ish.....we will get Trent squared away with allergy shots. He'll go twice a week for 22 weeks, then go once a month for the next three years. He could go once a week for 44 weeks, but then we are talking about me having to drive him in the snow. Caca!

I cannot wait to drop the cable to basic....it's going up in price next month. I've almost got everything taped I want to kid wise.

I have one more pair of jeans to cut, then I can start the rag rug process. I balked and pulled my three pair of jeans out that don't quite fit. I'm not ready to make them into a rug yet, but I am ready to exercise. We'll see if I cut them and add them to the rug next spring....

Randomness...

We've got 5 eggs so far that the finches have started sitting on today. That means we should have baby birdies in 11-14 days.

I have eaten out three nights in a row. Way to shoot the diet to shit. Tonight it was coney island. That may not sound like much, but dear God in heaven......I haven't had any of that food in over 7 years. Bliss! Pure bliss.......

We are down to one car again. And probably have no options left but to buy.

Trent reads. And writes notes on MS Word. And spells. And knows a boatload of sight words. Snap. As fast as a snap of my fingers....he is no longer a baby, in need of being coddled. Oy. Just oy...

Devin starts kindergarten in about 7.5 months. Snap......

The bunny is still peeing like a big girl. And talking. And interacting. And thinking for herself. Snap.....

Is it wrong to know what Christmas ornaments you are going to be making for next (this) year already? And what you are doing as far as Christmas cards? And getting ready to figure out what cookies you'll be baking, and rounding up the recipes already? I think it is......

My hair is getting long. Almost too long. Put it in a braid at night so it doesn't 'rat nest' up long.

I've got the scrapping bug. I did seven 1 page L/O's the other night. (I also have some mulberry paper scraps to give away. They were from a value pack, any takers?)

I cannot find the completed roll of film from Christmas day. This will not be good...

I think Heidi and I were seperated at birth.....based on cholesterol alone. Mine is 220, and HDL is 150. Oddly close to her results. Pass the bread and cheese Heidi....;)

Dave is an ogre today. Funny ears and all........

Joe Rogan calls....;)

Saturday, January 08, 2005 @ 4:29 PM

I really want to blog...

...but life keeps getting in the way. ;)
We just came back from sledding...now it's off to ruin the diet dinner.
Have a great weekend all!

Monday, January 03, 2005 @ 6:26 PM

Ahhhhhhh......

Back to school day! For Trent and Devin, thank you God and baby Jesus. Christmas vacation went very well though, it's just so...so...damn long!

The holiday went smoothly. We had company in one form or another from the 24th through the 28th. The kids all loved the gifts they received from Santa and family. And the Bunny turned two on the 28th. Sniff. Double sniff.....she is still doing her potty training thing like a champ. She will stay dry all day with the exception of naptime.

No new year resolutions, but my new me evolution continues....it started when I was pregnant with Maiya. Let go of the anal, control freak ways I said. It's a long, tough road. But I am the tortoise. Slow and steady wins the race. This year, the area to be worked on include: "Me" time, because we all know that a happy momma is a better momma (and wife...), patience (because we all know that at ages 2, 4.75 and 7....things are being stored in the 'memory banks' on a daily basis), and my own health (because we all know that water and exercise {ack!} are important.

Happy new year and new goals if you have them to all!
