Help!

Weekend was good...Village meeting was yesterday, that was okay...today was nail/low grade migraine day...and this evening was 'pick up and haul 12 contractor bags full of plaster out to the yard, then fill 8 more and haul them out' night. Cripes! My girly muscles will be cussing me tomorrow.

Cliff note entry there... ;)

Picture Day!

Yesterday's Safety Town graduation for Trent and Devin.

The greased pole climb from June 5th.

Kindergarten graduation and somebody's first ever ponytail.

Another graduation.

The 5 hour transformation of the guest room.

All better now.

Crashed last night around 8 pm........too tired to watch Fear Factor. Wasn't until this morning that I remembered that FF is usually on Monday nights. Don't know what was up last night...

Woke up around midnight, got up and waited for Dave to get home. Took meds, then had him press across the bridge of my nose for awhile, then rub my neck and shoulders. Back to bed at 1 am, where I tossed and turned until about 3 am. Woke up around 6:30 am with no migraine. Yay!

Busy village morning, my deputy was here to do some computer savvy stuff. This should make the bill paying much easier from here on out. Handy dandy neighbor guy got here early and started on the guest room. Dave dropped the kids off, then went to pick up the insulation and blower apparatus. Small snafu when they blew the insulation and the wall wasn't filling up with it. Guess who has a freaky deaking mess in the basement to clean up? All over the garage sale shit? Oy vey!

Kids went down the street this afternoon, and I was able to get more village work done. Made a crappy dinner tonight, but fixed it all with ice cream from the general store afterwards. ;) I mixed up the dry ingredients for the cookie dough. I'll be baking my ass off tomorrow afternoon. Tomorrow is the last day of Safety Town and the kids have a little program that we get to watch. Then they are going to daycare until 5 pm. They have spent a fair amount of time at daycare lately.......Trent asked to go yesterday. Bad momma! If I can get the cookies and the village bills done while they are gone I'll be in good shape. The meeting is Monday, but Maiya has a well-child appointment that day also, so not much time that day. I still need to pack our stuff tomorrow and figure out what the plan for the dog is......

Off to put on a full set of nails. What kind of nail tech takes them off when she is short on time already? Dork...

Wednesday, June 16, 2004 @ 7:31 PM

Ugh!
My turn for the blog migraine. And I'm calling it a day. At 7:30 pm. Pitiful...

Tuesday, June 15, 2004 @ 4:38 PM

Whole lotta ass...

It takes a special kind of asshole (my neighbor) to start mowing the lawn at 8:30 pm, and not get done until 10:50 pm.
Baby squirrels and chipmunks are adorable, full grown squirrels are a pain in the ass.
I am dragging ass today.
The blog template I'd like to use has an ass on it.
Devin loves the word ass about as much as I do.
I'd love to sit on my ass the rest of the day.

Someone please light a fire under my ass........

Help!

Way behind......

Friday- Safety Town/daycare. Ordered carpet for the upstairs. Cleaned that bastard attic up. All 310 square feet of it. It wouldn't have been so bad, except I had already done it once, months ago. Originally cleaned up 16 pounds of shingle bits and pieces, nails, and wood chunks. After I did it the first time, Dave went up to remove the drywall and insulation from the rafters so the house could breath. There was no tarp used in this project, so 16 more pounds of nails, and wood, and shingle bits and pieces came on down again. Ugh! All the clothes that were in there had to take a spin through the dryer, everything had to be wiped down, dusted, vacuumed.......but, it is done. Now, at a later date I need to pull garage sale stuff out of there (baby stuff....waaaa, boo hoo!), re-organize the kid's totes of stuff, re-organize the holiday totes and go through the ton of kindergarten paperwork.

Saturday- Errand running day. Home Depot where I struck out on a water cooler or filter for my faucet. Car sale (ha!), Chinese for lunch, Meijer.

Sunday- Spent ALL. DAMN. DAY. Emptying the guest/play room out. Ran a boatload and a half of stuff up to the attic. Rented some movies.

Today- Tried to village work, made some headway. Neighbor handy-guy gutted the guest/play room. Pulled all the wallpaper and horse hair plaster off the walls and ceiling. Holy hell Batman, what a freaking mess we have in there. I bagged up 12 contractor garbage bags of the stuff before I quit for the day. There is still a ton more in there. We are going to have to rent the insulation blower machine and insulate the outside walls in there.

The porch is on hold for right now........need to buckle down village wise for the meeting next Monday. It wouldn't be so bad, but we are going downstate for my nephew's graduation party, so I lose two working days. I need to make a big old honking batch of Dreamsicle cookies for the party.

Still need to file these nails, tomorrow I need to load the kid's bikes and helmets into the truck so they can take them to Safety Town. I also need to have my tiny (ha!) hiney down to the shop by 9:30 am to do a pedicure. I have decided that I need to go to work at the nursing home to boot(minimum 4 days, maximum 12 days a month). These home projects can't be done without depleting emergency funds and such. This is the best time for me to go, since Dave is on afternoons. He would drop the kids off at daycare at 1:30 pm, and I would be picking them up at 3 pm. I'm totally comfortable with that. We don't know how long Dave will be on afternoons, but if he switches to days at some point, the amount of daycare needed automatically doubles due to our shift start times. He goes to days, I would flip to afternoons. That would mean a 1:30 pm drop off, and 4:30 pm pickup. Not so comfortable with that........the daycare packet of info came yesterday. I'm not ruling that out right now either.

Wow. I need to go to bed!

@ 5:45 PM

OY!!!

Stop the ride, I wanna get off......

Thursday, June 10, 2004 @ 8:17 PM

Well if this just isn't one of those "Let's see how bad we can fuck up the bedtime routine" nights.......Grrr!

@ 6:05 PM

I'm tired of trying to use Rust-oleum in the wind. Honest to pete. It can be as still as can be. Until I step out onto the porch to get started. I managed to get the furniture finished before I gave up. Still need to do the porch uprights and the side door. I bought some clearance chair pads today and slapped them on the rockers and chairs. Looks nice if I do say so myself...

Think I'll switch to the attic this evening to get a head start on it. The kids are pulling an all day outing tomorrow, Safety Town and daycare. The attic will be done by tomorrow. No ifs, ands or butts.

My daycare info packet should be in the mail today. And that darn nursing home is making it hard for me to say no....they are willing to work around me and take whatever I can give them, even day shift. Wages have gone up considerably since I last worked there, almost two years now. If I worked dayshift, the kids would only be at daycare for an hour and a half. Then when Trent started school, he wouldn't need daycare. If I worked one day a week I'd bring in an extra $350 to the monthly household income, plus the clerk income. Outgo for daycare would only be $36.......crapola. What to do.

Late nights

...and early mornings are killing me.

Sometimes being a non-paying customer sucks. Case in point....3.5 hours at a nail appointment and I still have to file them. Sheesh. I swear to myself all the time that I am going back to paying for fills so I can be treated like a real customer.
Never made it to the nursing home either.
Got home and had lunch with the family then prepared for the finance meeting. Took the kidlets to daycare at 3:30, came home and straightened the house and did some more village work.
Meeting went good, now to do the meeting minutes and budget stuff sometime this week. I'm bummed that I'm not finished with the porch yet. I had Wednesday as my obsessive-compulsive deadline. I still need to paint the porch uprights and go buy some more fusion paint for the resin furniture. Then scrape and paint the side door. Oy......If I bust my hump I could probably get that all done tomorrow. Life keeps getting in the way. ;)
Tomorrow I tan after I drop the kids off at Safety Town, then I'll head for Meijer for more paint. I hope to tackle the attic on Friday. That will definitely be an all day/kids gone project that I am so not looking forward to.
Guess I'll call the nursing home tomorrow and call to get the packet/info on daycare. There was talk tonight at the meeting of bumping up the treasurer and clerk wages. Hmmmm...we shall see I guess.
Need to pull clothes from the dryer and unload and reload the dishwasher. Break time is over. ;)

Tuesday, June 08, 2004 @ 9:29 PM

Ran out of steam...

...ugh. I am tired!

Late night, early morning. Dentist appointment, tanning, hardware store for paint, Rite Aid for porch umbrella and new kiddie pool. Managed to get all the laundry done (need to fold still...), get the front door painted and in place, dinner made, pool pumped up, and a visit with Debbie and Charlie in.

Need to shower, do the "cycle through" (the two times a day sweep through the house putting stuff away/picking up/preparing for tomorrow...)

Tomorrow is nail day. Yay! And it's just for me, I don't have to do my girlfriends even. It will be like a real nail appointment, I cannot wait! :) Kids are going to daycare later in the afternoon so I can get a finance committee meeting out of the way. I really need to get cracking on village work tomorrow. Seems like I've ignored it for at least a week now...should be a real pain in the ass to get it caught up.

I need to go to the nursing home tomorrow too, they called me last week wanting me to work. I just don't know about that right now...they are wanting afternoons, that would mean daycare for my kids for sure. I'm thinking (this week at least...) that if I go to work, it would be as a daycare provider. And probably not until the fall. What to do, what to do....

Monday, June 07, 2004 @ 10:21 PM

I need new unky moods...

...a "moto-vated" one, and a "focused" one.

Saturday.......I made the family walk their hineys off. Yard sales, craft show, grand opening of the park, down to the other park for the greased pole climb, just everywhere. It was a very fun day all in all. Both Trent and Devin gave it their all on that pole....I can't wait to get the pictures developed. The prize was to be $20 for each of the first two people up the pole. Nobody managed to get up, so they divided the money between the kids. They ended up with $5 a piece, so we walked down to the gas station and let them pick pop or ice cream for all their hard work.

Trent went on his first ever sleep-over that night too.....oh my, that 'good-bye' was tough. :( He did very well......he ended up staying with them that day and went to the mud bog/race to boot. We headed over there for dinner, taking all the side dishes and had a great evening. During the day while Trent was still gone, Dave mowed the lawn and Devin and I finally finished the porch washing. I planted all my flowers in the front porch pots, painted the resin chairs with some hunter green Krylon fusion paint, and set out the new rocking chairs. My porch is really shaping up!

Today we took the biggies to Safety Town, then I went to tan. Got home and made Dave and Maiya go for a bike ride with me. Dave went to pick the kids up and we had lunch. After lunch we headed back outside. I filled up the pool, then scraped and painted the front door green. Painted Maiya's little rocking chair green too. Had the neighbor girlie over and her and Devin swam and got along smashingly. While they were outside, I dug a fire pit in the backyard and got it all lined with bricks. Rounded everyone up around 5 pm, washed people down, changed clothes and headed to Burger King. Went to Debbie's house, a 35 minute drive which is considered 'around the corner' for here. The kids played in the dirt and Debbie and I got most of the trampoline put together.

I need to unload some stuff out of the truck, take a shower, wash some clothes, straighten the house and have a drink!

G'night all!

Saturday, June 05, 2004 @ 9:40 PM

Gah!

My son is on his first ever sleep-over.....I can not begin to describe how distressing this is.

Friday, June 04, 2004 @ 9:49 PM

Yesterday....

....I got another third of the porch washed. Caught up on phone calls. Took Trent to the Dr.'s, hit the Goodwill and scored dresses for "Miss girlie girlie all of the sudden", scored ($12.99) a killer rocking chair for the font porch. I actually already have one of these, but the cane seat is busted out and it's too expensive to have it re-caned. Cheated again and got LJS for dinner.

Today........went and bought a one month unlimited tanning package and tanned. Went to Meijer, by my self. JOY!!! Hit some yard sales in town, scored a second rocking chair, same as the one above. The arm on this one needs to be repaired, but it was only $3 so I can live with that. My front porch is going to rock! Literally. Partook in the village festivities, it's our big weekend. Took the kids down to the horse pulls, then went down to the campground for music and socializing. Tomorrow we have a parade, kids games, a greased pole climbing for the kids (I cannot wait to see my hickey little kids do this.....this ranks right up there with "mutton busting"! I am amazed at how different their upbringing is compared to what Dave and I had......) craft shows, yard sales, bake sales, tractor pulls, kids lawnmower/tractor pulls, an auto cruise and the grand opening celebration of the campground.

My girlfriend has finally moved up here. They are going to "try it" for a year.........we stayed in their cabin when we first moved up here. They were such a godsend to offer it to us, it gave us a chance to become familiar with the area and look for a house unpressured. I hope Debbie can hack it up here, otherwise they are moving down south. Waaa, take me!!! ;)

To start drinking? I went liquor shopping today...bring on 8:15 pm people.

I feel motivated today. Let's just see what I can get accomplished here today.
Happy Thursday all. :)

The Bunny...

....is so not funny.

She climbs on everything nowadays. The dining room table, the computer desk, the scrapbooking table. To look for pens. Pencils. Any writing instrument. Too bad she still eats the crayons........
And she thinks it's really cute to lick her shoes. That is just too much for me and my germaphobe self....

Why does 5 pm signal the witching hour around here? Disfunction Junction.....cripes! And why is 5 pm so far away from 7 or 8 pm?

Tuesday, June 01, 2004 @ 9:01 PM

Tuesday...a.k.a. "No-whine post day!" Yay!

My butt is sooo sore! First long bike ride of the season was yesterday. Ouchie! We all hit the trail for a family ride. This was a big challenge for Trent. He knew how to ride, but not really how to get started and stop. He does now..........he had no choice but to learn quick, fast and in a hurry yesterday. He skinned an elbow, hit the bridge, scraped a knee, and ran into a bush then fell into a puddle. He isn't the world's "manliest" boy, so he shed a few tears before he realized that he was still alive and able to ride. By the end of the trip, he was pretty darn proud of himself, and we were too. :)

We watched Gothika yesterday, and I finished watching LOTR. Both very good movies.

This morning I went to the shop and did a pedicure, then did my girlfriends nails. Picked Trent up from school, and we went bike riding. He's like a cycling pro now...lol! He wanted us the ride our bikes to go pick up the girls from daycare. Crazy boy! I cheated and got McDonalds for dinner tonight, then whipped through here and cleaned up the joint. All three kidlets got baths, and we watched a Power Ranger tape.

I need to straighten up the village work area and do some easy work.......but I really don't wanna.........Village gossip of the day: One council member has resigned due to the fact that he up and left his wife and moved, the village maintenance guy is currently on suspension, the clerk is holding up the application for a credit card machine for the new campground by balking at giving the bank her social security number and copy of her drivers license. Patriot Act my ass....

I have a carpet person coming out here tomorrow to measure and give us an estimate. I hope I don't have to end up making a Dr.'s appointment for myself tomorrow......my ear is kicking. Head is still so full, I hope it's just a sinus back-up issue and not an ear infection.
