WOOT X 3

My last day of work is December 22nd. Woot!

The Christmas shopping is done with the exception of the grocery store and one other very small, local stop. Woot!

We have no snow here and it's 58 degrees today. Rainy, but hey I'll take it. Woot!

Friday, November 24, 2006 @ 9:41 AM

OY!

Is November over yet so I can stop trying to post everyday?

I've been doing some house decluttering/room rearranging the last few days. I'm amazed at the amount of duplicate crap! I shouldn't be, but I am. Sad to say, but things have been so cluttered lately that I just buy new rather than search.... The grocery/misc. alloted amount should come in way under budget for the next few months. And the crafting supplies, holy cow Batman! I cannot wait to re-claim my house.

I made my swap ornaments yesterday, need to get them in the mail today. My plan was to take the kids to the playground, but it's only 30* so far, so we'll see.

Off to organize and minimize all my nail stuff.

Happy Friday!

This blogging everyday is hard work!

Off to the regular grind again tomorrow. Luckily, I only have to work two days.

The kidlets are starting to drive me batty today, I think it's bacause I am somewhat under the weather. It's a 7-7:30 bedtime tonight.

Saturday, November 18, 2006 @ 9:17 AM

Happy weekend!

Well, we are one step closer at work to getting me down to part-time. I'll know more next week. I have 5 days off next weekend with Thanksgiving. Woot!

Dave's dad is in the hospital, we got the call yesterday. Now I'll have to wait for Dave to call his sister and get the scoop today. Then we'll be able to plan what to do from there. Dave is out with Trent right now, hunting.

I need to do some serious room pick up/straightening and laundry today. Guess I should get to it.

Have a good weekend!

One more day

...until the anxiously awaited weekend.

I hope the kids start feeling better soon. Or at least stop coughing their little heads off. This is day 17 of something or other, sickness wise around here. Trent was the last to give in to a sinus infection, but it finally got him.

Wednesday, November 15, 2006 @ 8:33 AM

My head hurts today.

I think that voluntary simplicity is just a new way to get back to the 'old' ways of life.

I have to take the kiddies to the allergist this afternoon. And stop and buy a new window shade to keep 'sneak and peek neighbor boy' from gawking in our windows each morning.

Until then, I'm going to scrapbook rather than clean up the basement steps of clutter, or put the guest room together.

Monday, November 13, 2006 @ 7:25 PM

It is done.

I've put the ball into management's hands. If they can figure out a way for me to only work part-time, great! If not, I'm home bound.

Our new Dr. passed away Friday night. He lived for 18 weeks after his diagnosis. Cancer is such a bitch.

Sunday, November 12, 2006 @ 6:11 PM

Hey, what's that being lifted from my shoulders?

The weight of a full-time job. Yay! I'm SAHM bound again. :)

The girls are sick. Sick. SICK. They just finished their 10 days of antibiotic and I'd be rich if I had a nickel for every time Devin has coughed the last three days. I have to zip them in to work tomorrow to be seen, then decide from there where they go. School, daycare or home with me.

I finally managed to buy them all some winter boots today. We still have snow on the ground left over from the other night.

Saturday, November 11, 2006 @ 6:45 PM

Oops!

Forgot to blog yesterday.

I took the kidlets to the big city today to get their pictures taken. Also stopped at JoAnns and Hobby Lobby. Steak & Shake and Toys R Us too. I deserve a medal. Or at least a drink....

I struck out on the car seat for Maiya. I just may have to call the dealership and see if they can add a shoulder belt to the middle spot in the back seat.

3

I have the next 3 days off. WOOT!

Wednesday, November 08, 2006 @ 8:36 PM

Happy Birthday

To our best boy. Nine years have flown by.

Tuesday, November 07, 2006 @ 9:30 PM

Wow!

What a day, we had 700+ people come to vote today. That is a huge tunout for podunkville. Us gals had no time to read, crochet or gossip. Dang! ;)

I must go to bed now, I woke up at 4:14 am of course. Dave is gone tonight for his sleep study. Those results should be interesting when we get them back in a few weeks.

I have someone coming in tomorrow to clean the house. How sad is that? How sad is that when Wednesdays are my day off? Not sad at all right now damnit! I need to go shopping for Trent's present tomorrow. And do some "Oh crap, my mom is coming and look at this place" type of scurring....

Monday, November 06, 2006 @ 9:12 PM

Less crabby. More tired...

And so it goes. Heh. Tomorrow is Election day. I'll be working the polls starting at 6 am. The funkalicious part of the day comes when I leave there at lunch time to go to a mandatory dumb ass little meeting at work, then head back to the polls until 9 pm.

Trent's birthday is the day after tomorrow. I really need to get my poop in group and nail down a gift.

Sunday, November 05, 2006 @ 6:41 PM

Boy howdy,

Am I crabby.

That is all.

Saturday, November 04, 2006 @ 9:52 PM

Can't wait for the day of rest!

Today was fun...the kids and I whipped through here and got all the rooms picked up and straightened in record time today. Then we headed out to the carnival. I won the scrapbooking and Fall themed baskets at the silent auction. Go me. Now to find the time to scrap....

We went grocery shopping this afternoon then headed up to a church sponsored movie night. For $1.00 per person we watched Over The Hedge, had pop, popcorn and candy bars. The kids were in heaven! They had already seen the movie once at daycare but seemed to enjoy the evening.

Church and clothes folding is on the agenda for tomorrow. It should be a pretty relaxing day. I'll be able to do my bulletin board for work also. The November topics are pancreas cancer, national hospice month, lung cancer, smoke-out day and Thanksgiving trivia.

Friday, November 03, 2006 @ 8:46 PM

Yipee...

...for weekends! Tomorrow the 1st order of business is chores and to fold the mountains of clean, but wrinkled clothes that have been sitting around for days. Then it's off to the school carnival and then grocery shopping. Sunday is church and kick back and relax day. We really should rake leaves in there somewhere, since they aren't blowing away on their own. ;)

Thursday, November 02, 2006 @ 9:02 PM

CRIKEY!

It never pays to be MIA from work for a day. Oh, the stacks of shit to do. The sheer volume of charts to contend with today! All I could do was stack those bitches on the floor until the end of the day. I punched out right around 8 pm.

Tomorrow will be better, and not just because it's "Doughnut Friday" either. :) Mmmm....Dunkin Donuts. I live for doughnut Fridays anymore. I've been being a supportive wife to "Mr. Sky High Triglycerides" now for about 2.5 weeks worth of the South Beach diet. That's right, no sugar and no carbs. Kill me now....

Wednesday, November 01, 2006 @ 8:29 AM

Is it cheating?

If I use the bog as a daily to-do list for this? Ha!

I'm off from work today, it's my ONE day off a week. We had someone have a medical emergency back in September so I have picked up my usual Tuesday off to work. It's damn near killing me. I did end up with yesterday off, but at Devin's expense. She complained of a sore throat Monday night and again yesterday morning before school. As I was doing her hair to go with her Halloween costume, she said "My tummy feels flippy." As I was putting up the toilet seat, fully expecting her to vomit, she started to undo her pants to pee. Then she started to crumple. This is the second time she has passed out like that. The first time was a few months ago while Dave was cleaning out some glass from her finger. And yet she can break an arm in two places and be 'fine.' I ran her up to work after I took Maiya to preschool and she came away with a strep throat diagnosis. This is the first time we've had strep in the 9 years we've been parenting. Dodged some major bullets there I'd say! Bad news is that Maiya was probably the original carrier. I had an appointment for her to be seen today since she spiked a temp all last weekend. She had no complaints about her throat though. I got a prescription for both of them and notified the preschool teacher that I probably just infected the whole class by bringing Maiya. Oy!

Devin is back to school today and has pink hair because "It's only fair...." She was a cheerleader for Halloween and we bought some pink hair spray to match her costume (black and hot pink.) Since she missed her party and parade yesterday, I decided to give her the treat of using it today.

Maiya and I will go get the cat from the vets in a bit. He was de-clawed and fixed yesterday. I need to get Trent to the allergist this afternoon after school and before hockey practice. And I WILL do my nails today.
