Momma Drama

Friday was good. Good. Good. Good.
Dave took all three kids to daycare on his way to get the taxes done. For some ungodly reason, we are due to get more than double back this year over last years return. I can't believe that the child tax credit would make such a huge difference. I'm sure not going to question it too much though. I made huge strides that day on getting caught up on village stuff. I need to start making out the bills, the agendas, bill sheets, etc. for Mondays meeting. Dave and I did some errand running including giving blood later in the day and went out for dinner. He decided to take a job in Grand Rapids. He should be turning in his two week notice with the current company tomorrow. Good and bad with this deal........it is a bigger pay cut than we would have liked to see, and hour commute every day instead of his usual hour commute two days a week, no mileage, no sign on bonus, afternoon shift, etc. The good points are: Eight hour shifts, a more progressive hospital means higher tech exams, it gets him out from under that "No compete clause" his current company has just about everywhere, he will no longer be ineligible for high tech hospital positions elsewhere "because you've been in the slower paced mobile field for the last 7 years...."
We are really going to have to knuckle down on the budget. I've been saying that for the last few weeks, but still..... Him working afternoons opens up some possibilities of me working though if need be with little to no daycare expense. I can do nails from 9-1 every day if need be, or if I work days as a nurse, the kids would end up at daycare for one hour only, assuming I got out of work on time (hahahaha!) (The thought of working dayshift kills me though....it starts at 6 am. Ack! Gotta do what you gotta do sometimes though...) I actually looking forward to the 8 hour shifts most of all, even with him driving an hour each way. Right now he works 13 hour shifts with between a 20 minute to hour drive each way. He'd be gone for 10 hours instead of the 15 hours like some days now.
Dave is supposed to be composing his resignation letter in his head on the drive home from downstate today. Hope he doesn't balk....... He would like to stay on with the current company and pick up a weekend here and there. Trying not to burn bridges and all.....

Yesterday it was me and the kidlets and more poor aching head. I may actually have to make a Dr.'s appointment for tomorrow. We whipped through the house and straightened up, then did some shopping. Hit the library for some movies, check out the Goodwill, went to K Mart......got another 3 drawer organizer for my scrapbooking odds and ends, got two shelving units for the laundry room. Came home had some dinner, watched a few movies, ate some popcorn, then it was off to bed for them. I finished soaking off my nails.......hate when I do this, I give them a break for a few weeks every so often. I feel nekkid!!!

Today should be a pretty lazy day. Need to make up for the last three days off of laundry detail. There is more fresh snow on the ground today...We'll watch Star Wars at some point, it's the movie Trent picked. Joy. :/ Baby hollers...I must go! :)
