Momma Drama

Thursday, January 18, 2007 @ 8:15 AM

Today is

"Holy shit...the big 2 are at school, Maiya goes to daycare at 9:30 am and I am going to retrieve all the toys from the attic, combining them with what's down here and Goodwill the lot of it" day.
I let the kids know a few weeks ago that I expected them to fill 3 garbage bags (each of them) with toys for the Goodwill, and I'd pay them $10 a bag. The girls were all for it. Trent? Not so much...he tried to tell the girls I was trying to persuade (he was proud of the big word) them to get rid of their stuff. Mutiny!
The bigger the house, the more the clutter. I cannot believe how much 'stuff' and flat out garbage is being uncovered here! The other day I had to get tough and downsize the recipes and cooking magazines. I did the cookie cutters too. This is ridiculous. I have a blender, a food processor and an ice crusher. What is wrong with that picture?

I have cancelled my nail appointment for today at my girlfriend's shop. The nails always take a beating when I do this type of deep cleaning (and the first gardening of the spring.) I've clipped them all down and will have to start over. I hope the place where I get my hair done has an appointment to get my nails done tomorrow. I'm supposed to check out how the nail gal does a full set on the sly anyways for the owner (my hair gal.) She isn't pleased with the lack of repeat nail business in there, and she knows I'm a nail tech who has had a (crappy!) nail fill there. She told me the other day I'd have a job there anytime I wanted. Nice.

Okay. Off to put clothes away, straighten bedrooms, round up laundry and take the Bun to Miss Sues.

Snow day!

Finally.

I have rescheduled Trent's ortho appointment, no sense running my hiney off with all 3. ;)

In the spirit of Flylady (the heffer that she is...) I have decluttered the bathroom cabinet. The kids watched TV and played computer games for the hour it took me. Trent thinks it would be great if I took them all to the big hill to go sledding. Heh. I hate all winter activities. I'm still kicking the idea around. It's breakfast for dinner night, and I'll do another hour deep cleaning the bathroom.

This weekend was very relaxing. No work in the dining room though. Guess I should think about doing something in there this week.

Errand day.

Bunny and I went to the post office, the bank, the library, preschool, Dunkin' Donuts, Dave's work, my work, the book store, Menards, the movie store, out to lunch, the re-sale store, the tattoo place, the pound, and the florist! Dinner is in the works, and I'm not doing too much of anything else tonight.

The big plan for this weekend is to read this, work on the dining room that I started stripping of it's wallpaper, and watch movies.

Have a great weekend all!

It's past my bedtime...

...or I just love stupid humor. I just saw the commercial for this, and cannot wait to see it. I'm voting for just plain loving stupid humor.

In other news, I am learning that doing things half ass is really the way to go for some things. More on this later.

Do I hear myself in her?

I attempted to straighten and declutter the play/computer/rec room today. When Dave got home from work he said: "What did you do to my room?" Maiya said "I can't live like this anymore. It's making me crazy!" BWHAHAHAHA!!!

The poor children.

Still. No snow. They are on Christmas break until Monday and there isn't a flake of snow anywhere. Today it is supposed to be 46*. Great for me, bad for them.

Trent has an orthodontist appointment today and all 3 are scheduled for haircuts. Better get at it then.
