Momma Drama

Ugh!

Lost the whole last post...including my "Songs as Life Bookmarks" stuff. Bass-tard!

The night of two dreams...

I dreamed that I talked to Heidi on the phone last night.
I also dreamed that Matthew Lillard and I had a "thing" going on. I haven't even watched Scooby Doo lately. What gives?

Now. Please don't make me decide which dream was better. ;)

WOW!!!

Do I ever have some brushing up to do...It's nice to be hired on your work ethic reputation and team player attitude and that alone, but it makes it a little stressful when it comes to the skill set you need to do the actual job. Phew! (More on how this job pretty much landed in my lap later.)

My Dr. is on vacation right now, so that has been nice. I'm learning as much as I can before he returns next Thursday. Rumor has it that he is the most wonderful, patient, teaching type of Dr. in the place. There are 9 Dr.'s all together. My guy is the medical director of the facility, and has the heaviest patient load, meaning he sees 23-30 patients a day normally. This is between 8:30 and 4:30. Phew! I will be working in a "pod"...an area that houses 2 Dr.'s, 2 Dr. assistants, 1 float and a scheduler. That's a bit claustrophobic when everyone congregates.

I must say I got a little nervous yesterday when I found out he was on vacation. I am not required to work when he is off, unless I want to, meaning we take our vacations at the same time if I don't choose to pick up days. So here I am, thinking 'our' vacation time won't roll around again until next October. Ha! I was informed that the Dr.'s take around 8 or 9 weeks off throughout the year. Yay! That works for me. I also get OT for anything over 8 hours a day. Nice! And if I opt not to take the benefit package, that's worth $50 every payday. Nice! And I get an annual uniform allowance. Nice! And lets not forget that lunch is provided every Tuesday and Thursday by the drug rep.'s. This is my favorite I think. ;) And the drug samples, I swear to gawd this is not fair, but staff gets first dibs on the samples. ASK for samples people! They have a boatload.

Today was better than yesterday, it was a tad slower in there and I didn't have yesterday's migraine.

This weekend will entail being a single parent while Dave travels abroad to pick up extra days at the old job. He gets a nice quiet hotel room, too bad he works 13 hours each day and can't really enjoy the quiet or the hotel pool. He did this last weekend too, and I SWEAR TO GOD! If my sweet, wonderful children act like butt-knockers again like they did last weekend, I shall come unglued! Devin has her last soccer game tomorrow, then I NEED to get to Bath & Body works, I have too many coupons that are about to expire. I just may treat myself to one of these overpriced as hell, wonderful smelling candles.

I have a few more things to do Village wise, for Monday night's meeting. I did most all of that the other day before I started the job.

That is all for now, time to watch a short movie with the kiddies and get my snuggles. Happy weekend to all!

Job City

Here I come!

Tomorrow is my first day, and I'm askeered! I threw myself into Village work today to keep my mind off of it. It's been almost 8 years since I worked full-time, and I have no Dr. office experience. Eek!

Dave got me flowers today, a dozen red roses. And the kids couldn't be more excited about riding the bus tomorrow.

I'll be gald when the day is over and done with...

Whee!

So much to blog (and do...) between now and the end of next week, when I start my new found job.

Devin and I are field-tripping to the pumpkin patch today. Gotta love those bus rides.

Happy Thursday all!
